2026 Fall Gallatin Watershed Cleanup

Saturday, September 19, 2:00-6:30 p.m.

Help us clean up our watershed before the busy recreation season begins!

Each spring, garbage that was buried beneath the snow is washed downstream into our local waterways. Removing waste from our local streams, wetlands, and trails improves the quality of water, soil, and habitat for the people and critters in our area and for our downstream neighbors.

Volunteer: Join the Gallatin Watershed Council at the 2026 Spring Gallatin Watershed Cleanup

When: Saturday, September 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What you will be doing: Cleanup trash across the Gallatin Watershed as a team leader or a team member.

Celebrate: A volunteer celebration will immediately follow the cleanup at Lindley Park. The celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. with announcements and prizes at 5:00 p.m. The celebration will end at 6:30.

Team Leader

Team leaders are responsible for attending a team leader happy hour the week of the event to collect supplies, then distributing supplies and relaying safety information and protocol to their team members. Detailed responsibilities are linked below.

You will also receive additional information via email closer to the event date.

Volunteer

Volunteers choose a site that they want to clean up, sign a waiver and show up! We recommend wearing gloves and clothes that you feel comfortable picking up trash in. Otherwise, we provide the bags, rubber gloves, and hand sanitizer. The volunteer who finds the strangest thing will win a raffle prize at our Post Cleanup Celebration.
