TREE
PLANTING
What: Another volunteer tree planting project by Branch out Bozeman: 5 Mountain Ash trees and 5 serviceberry bushes.
When: June 14th, 3:00 - 5:00 PM
Where: Drainage ditch at the Softball Complex Park. Meet at the upper Softball Complex parking lot at the corner of Ellis Street and Highland Boulevard.
Why: We are growing Bozeman’s urban forest. Trees provide economic benefits such as energy savings and increased property values, environmental benefits such as carbon sequestration and stormwater filtration, public health benefits such as air purification and shade, and social benefits such as crime reduction and stress relief. This site was chosen so that trees can help filter pollutants from nearby parking lots, roofs, and the dog park before stormwater flows into the East Gallatin River.
Who: A partnership between the Gallatin Watershed Council and the Bozeman Forestry Division.
