Tree Vouchers | Branch Out Bozeman

In 2025, the Gallatin Watershed Council and City of Bozeman Forestry Division are distributing a limited supply of $100 tree vouchers to select neighborhoods to grow Bozeman’s backyard canopy. Branch Out Bozeman, or simply “BOB,” is an urban forest initiative that aims to grow a thriving and resilient urban forest for all community members and wildlife. If you received a door hanger, scan the QR code to redeem your voucher and explore the resources below.  If you did not receive a door hanger but live in an eligible neighborhood, please contact us to receive a voucher. Thanks for growing Bozeman’s urban forest!

THE DETAILS

Vouchers can be used to purchase approved tree species and necessary supplies to care for the tree at Cashman Nursery only. You can choose a larger tree and apply your $100 to the purchase. However, bare root trees offer the best value—you can get a tree and the necessary supplies for $100! Note: If you miss the spring or early summer planting window, you can still plant in the fall. Keep in mind that Cashman’s may not have bare root trees available in the fall, so your options might be more limited then. Before heading to the nursery, please review the Approved Tree Species and Supplies List and planting instructions. Please note that all items are subject to availability and must come from the list to be eligible for voucher use!

USING YOUR VOUCHER
After submitting the form using the QR code on your voucher, print the barcode from the confirmation email and bring it with you to Cashman Nursery, where you can apply your $100 credit towards your approved purchase. Cashman Nursery is located at 2055 Springhill Rd, Bozeman, MT 59718.

PLANTING YOUR TREE
Follow the step-by-step planting instructions. There’s a helpful visual and videos linked within that document for additional guidance. For safety, always call 811 before digging to locate underground utilities. For additional tips on planting and maintenance, see pages 14–15 of the City of Bozeman’s Guide. Happy planting!
