Grow Bozeman’s urban forest in your backyard!
Want some shade and a little more birdsong in your life? In 2025, Branch Out Bozeman is giving away free trees to folks living in select neighborhoods. We need your help expanding our canopy to treat stormwater and beat the heat. There is a limited supply of $100 vouchers, so sign up while supplies last!

Voucher Program Details
Step 1: Redeem your voucher.
Scan the QR code on your door hanger or the yard signs posted in your neighborhood.
Fill out the form and hit submit.
Look for a confirmation email with a barcode and more information.
If you did not receive a door hanger but live in an eligible area and want to plant a tree, please contact us!
Step 2: Purchase supplies at Cashman Nursery.
Time to shop! Bring the barcode from your confirmation email (printed or on your phone) to Cashman Nursery located at 2055 Springhill Rd, Bozeman, MT 59718.
Pick out your tree! You can use your voucher to purchase a variety of species and planting supplies (restrictions apply*).
TIP: Want to make your voucher go farther? Bare root trees offer the best bang for your buck, but they should be planted in spring, early summer, or fall. Ask a Cashman staff member if bare root supplies are still in stock.
Head to the cash register. Let the cashier know you have a BOB voucher, present your barcode, and apply your $100 voucher towards your purchase!
Step 3: Plant your tree.

Step 4: Celebrate!
Share your tree with the community! Tag @gallatinwatershedcouncil and @citybzn on Instagram using the hashtag #BOBtree.
Stick an “I planted a tree with BOB” sign in your front yard. Shoot us an email, and we can drop one off. Let’s inspire more neighbors to be a part of Branch Out Bozeman!

Branch Out Bozeman is a partnership between the City of Bozeman Forestry Division, Gallatin Watershed Council, and YOU! Together, we are growing trees for cleaner water, cooler summers, and an urban forest that benefits all the people and wildlife in our community. Tree vouchers are funded by the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.
